Greenock Morton secured a key 3-2 victory over Partick Thistle in the Scottish Championship on Saturday. The win, which came from a goal down, lifts Morton to 9th in the table with seven points from 11 games, a record of two wins, one draw and eight defeats. They have scored nine goals and conceded 18 this season.

Garrity gave Morton a dream start, scoring after just three minutes. Partick responded strongly, with Ashcroft equalising in the 14th minute and Watt putting the hosts ahead ten minutes before half-time.

The game turned after the break. Sandilands levelled the score on 59 minutes, then completed his brace nine minutes later, assisted by Borso, to secure all three points for the visitors. The match saw several yellow cards, with Wilson and Cochrane booked for Morton.

This result extends Morton's winning run to three games, following victories over Queen's Park and Arbroath. It also cuts the gap to league leaders Partick to 18 points. The team's recent form now shows three wins from their last five matches, having also lost to Raith Rovers and Inverness CT. Before returning to league action, they face Kelty Hearts in the Challenge Cup at Cappielow Park on Tuesday, their next fixture in a busy schedule. Their next league match is at home to second-placed Stenhousemuir on Saturday 7 November.

On November 2, the club's supporters gained attention for a chant directed at Partick's Tony Watt. The striker, who scored in the 35th minute of the 3-2 win, later acknowledged the taunt on social media. Morton's victory, which ended Partick's 25-game unbeaten home run, leaves the team 9th in the Championship with 10 points from 12 games. They have scored 12 goals and conceded 20 this season. Watt said, "😭😭😭👏🏻" in a reply to a Morton fan online.
