Morton legends Jim Holmes and Andy Ritchie will return to Cappielow for a special guest appearance at the upcoming home match against Stenhousemuir. The pair, who signed for the club 50 years ago, are set to reflect on their five-decade association with the Ton in the hospitality suite next weekend.
Jim Holmes and Andy Ritchie made a combined 800 appearances for Morton and are affectionately known by the nicknames 'Homer' and 'Huggy'.
Event details and ticket access
Hospitality packages for the event cost £79 per person. They include a three-course meal, a matchday quiz, pre-match interviews and exclusive seating. Tickets can be purchased via the Greenock Morton FC Facebook page.
The event comes as Morton look to build on a recent upturn in form. The team currently sits 9th in the Championship with 7 points from 11 games, a record of two wins, one draw, and eight defeats. They have scored 9 goals and conceded 18, leaving them with a goal difference of minus nine. They are on a two-game winning run, having beaten Queen's Park 2-0 on Saturday, 17 October, with goals from G. Gillespie and M. Garrity, and Arbroath 2-1 the previous week. This recent form of two wins and three losses in their last five games provides a positive backdrop. Their next fixture is a tough away trip to league leaders Partick on Saturday, 31 October, a side they trail by 18 points in the title race.
The anticipation is building for the return of two of the club's most celebrated figures to Cappielow for the Stenhousemuir match.
