Greenock Morton have been given two new cars by their sponsor Arnold Clark to help with travel. The cars were delivered recently and will be used by team and operations staff for getting to training and games. This support arrives as Morton sit 9th in the Championship on 7 points after 11 games, with two wins, a draw, and eight defeats.

Manager Mark Kelly expressed gratitude for the gift. "Greenock Morton FC would like to thank Arnold Clark Greenock and branch manager Paul for their continued and valued support of the club," Kelly stated. He noted that this sponsorship and the new cars significantly help the club's everyday activities.

Partnership strengthens club ties

The delivery marks stronger connections between Arnold Clark's local branches. These branches are now managed together as part of the sponsor's growth with its manufacturer partner. Arnold Clark general manager Paul McCafferty also commented on backing the team. "It means that Greenock is truly supporting its own team," McCafferty said. He mentioned that the relationship extends beyond commercial interests.

This follows earlier vehicle assistance from the sponsor. The club had already gotten an electric van from Arnold Clark this year for moving gear to away games.

The support comes during a difficult season for Morton. Their recent performances have improved, with consecutive victories ending a previous run of defeats. The team's recent form reads two wins and three losses from the last five matches, with the wins coming against Queen's Park and Arbroath. The 2-0 victory over Queen's Park on Saturday 17 October featured goals from G. Gillespie and M. Garrity, while the 2-1 win at Arbroath on Saturday 10 October saw Gillespie score again alongside an own goal. The new cars will be used for travel throughout the rest of the season, which continues with a home fixture against 7th-placed Ayr Utd on Saturday 24 October.
