Greenock Morton have warned fans of a partial stadium closure if objects are thrown on the pitch at a future Scottish Cup tie. The club has been fined £500, with £250 suspended, after a 4-0 defeat by Stenhousemuir in January. They face a suspended reduction in capacity at Cappielow, representing 1285 fans, if a similar incident occurs at a future Scottish Cup match. Morton also point out that two fans have been identified and received club bans, with further action being considered by Police Scotland and the Procurator Fiscal, after a small number of supporters were involved in unacceptable conduct following their 1-1 league draw away to Arbroath in January. The club, though, say they remain proud of the incredible, passionate and loyal backing their fans give the team, home and away, by the overwhelming majority. Morton next host Arbroath in the Championship on Saturday.
